The first part of the book is biographical in nature, introducing the figure of sculptor and medal maker Professor Jan Wysocki. The second part is an outline of medallic art from the Renaissance to the 20th century. The next part describes the artist's rich output - medals, plaques and sculptures. The whole is completed by 96 plates with reproductions of Jan Wysocki's works.
A rare publication in the trade, almost the entire edition was destroyed by the Germans at the outbreak of World War II.
