The first Polish numismatic catalog, arranged and published in two volumes by Kazimierz Władysław Bandtki h. Stężyński in 1839-1840.
The original in beautiful condition, in a contemporary high quality full leather binding. The binding was made in the Librarium workshop, on the model of the original, and damaged binding of the 19th century. Restored its style, ornamentation, as well as the characteristic tight cut to the block format. Also relocated is the original cover with annotations and ex-librises by Stanislaw Niewitecki.
We offered another piece with a similarly restored binding, just like St. Niewitecki's piece, in Auction 10/335.
Outside format 235 x 175 mm, block format 231 x 170 mm.
Bound in full black leather, with gilding. On the back superexlibris of the Numismatic Cabinet of D. Marciniak.
Block preserved very well. Both volumes complete. Paper clean, with small gaps. Sides in characteristic 19th century spotted painting. Title page of each volume with a section cut out at the top, complete with underliner.
On each title page, former pen inscription, dedicatory "Jan Oświata.... To Bernard Otto..." and stamped facsimile of the signature "Latosinski Joseph" .
A nicely preserved and rare bibliophilic piece.
