Polish gold coins at world auctions 1945-2002
There is nothing better in discerning the rarity of a rare gold coin than to see how many times it has appeared in trade over the years. Relating this frequency, to the frequency of other pieces that appear in the trade and whose prices are known gives a good idea of the attractiveness of a particular coin.
Example: A 1586 Danzig ducat has 4 pages of auction listings, a 1587 has only a fragment of a page, for which there are 7 listings. It gives to a very good picture of the rarity of the coin.
A huge work covering Polish gold coins that appeared at public auctions between 1945 and 2002.
