This manuscript is a unique and valuable content item. It can be a good guide to how to include a lot of content in a small form. It covers the period from the first Piasts to post-partition issues. Expanded to include fief coins - Prussia and Courland.
The publication of a catalog (Index) of Polish coins was probably the ambition of Wiktor Chominski. Here we have an early, but one could say almost completed manuscript of such a Skorowidz.
In print, Wiktor Chomiński's "Index of Polish Coins" was published in 1929, although, with respect to the present manuscript, in a much more compressed form, which W. Chomiński justifies in the introduction to it by limited funds and the need for a budget publication (offered at the current auction in Session 2).
The notebook is bound in green cloth, the sides of the block stained red. External dimensions 147 x 95 mm.
Interior neatly written in very fine handwriting, with reigns marked on each page with a green stamp. Represents a manuscript of a catalog of Polish coins, with rarity designations and valuations.
An annotation on the title page "AS OF 1926".
Good state of preservation, with minor damage, but complete and not in need of repair.
An exceptional item.
