A specimen piece. Intense, mint mirror finish. Beautiful detail.

The 1840-dated 5 penny is the longest minted five-penny mintage of the partitions, as its issuance lasted from 1840, until 1863.

The present variety is dated 1846, and is distinguished by a broad eagle tail, Saint George without a mantle, and a high numeral 5 (slightly slanted).
