An inconspicuous, yet very interesting and equally rare coin.
The only 1/12 thaler minted to commemorate the vicarage of King August III. Issued in 1745, which, unlike earlier issues, was not distinguished by its iconography (mainly the depiction of the king on horseback). Maintaining the style adopted for the denominations in question, and emphasizing the vicariate title in the titulature on the reverse. In the case of this denomination, changing the legend: "(...)ARCH:ET ELECT:" to "(...)ARCHIM:EL: &VICARIUS:".
Coins ranging from the ducat to 1/24th of a thaler were struck in this issue. All either with a high valuation or amateur price in Helmut Kahnt's reference catalog.
A rarity, and a beautiful numismatic piece.
