Here is one of only 15 sets of award medals by Klukowski and, to our knowledge, the first to be offered on the antiquarian market. Until now, only single pieces have very rarely appeared at auction.
A set of 7 award medals for the Association of Military Sports Clubs. Made at the Warsaw Mint in 1938, according to the designs of sculptor Jozef Klukowski (1894-1945, also a former artillery major of the Polish Army).
As we read in Jacek Strzałkowski's catalog, "A total of 118 of the above medals were minted at the Mint, including 12 pieces as proofs and 106 for the ordering party. There were probably 15 sets of 7 pieces each."
