A medal commemorating Cardinal Ledóchowski, later Primate of Poland.
He became famous during the kulturkampfu period, when he opposed the partitioning authorities against, among other things, the abolition of the Polish language in religious instruction, which led, after financial penalties, to his imprisonment in Ostrów Wielkopolski in 1874.
On the obverse of the medal a number written in ink.
Very nice condition.
Bronze, diameter 39 mm, weight 26.2 g.
